Important to know about Bentham Open

Open Access:

• All articles are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication.

• Authors publishing with Bentham Open retain the copyright to their work.

• Under the open access model, there are no subscription charges for users.

All articles are deposited in at least one major international open digital repository (such as PubMed Central).

Journal web sites:
Bentham Open’s independent journals are online publications. If required , a periodic print edition can be made available for purchase.

All Bentham Open journal web sites are standardized and customized according to the subject area and requirements. For examples see The Open Biochemistry Journal, The Open Cardiovascular Medicine Journal, and The Open Civil Engineering Journal.

The journal Instructions for authors are also standardized and consistent according to the subject area/discipline. For examples see The Open Biochemistry Journal, The Open Cardiovascular Medicine Journal, and The Open Civil Engineering Journal.

License agreement:

All published articles at Bentham Open are licensed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution non-commercial License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/) which permits unrestricted, non-commercial use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, providing that the work is properly cited.

Fees for an open access journal:
Starting a new independent journal with Bentham Open, or transferring an existing journal to Bentham Open is completely free of charge.

Under the open access model, there are no subscription charges for users.

An article-processing fee payable by the author/ author's institution applies for every accepted article, to cover the costs incurred by open access publication. Members of Bentham Open are entitled to discounted article - processing fees.

Bentham Open offers affordable article -processing fees ranking amongst the lowest as compared to those of other open access journal publishers.

Journals may opt to subsidise article-processing charges by obtaining and using grants from institutions, industry or charitable organisations.

Independent and New Journal Proposals:

Each Independent journal (an existing journal or learned body’s journal) must have an active Editor-in-Chief and preferably before submitting the proposal to publish the journal with Bentham Open. All Independent journals will have complete editorial control. All Independent open access journals undergo the same article submission procedures, peer-review, etc. as all other journals at Bentham Open.
